The Rift

An ancient ravine splits Celais from Izzenfell at its West to the Dark Woods at its East. 200 years ago, a great horde of winged beasts and insectan abominations rose from The Depths. Before its arrival, Celais was not yet a nation and the unification of local armies under the banner of First King Llowin marked its creation. The event was named the Great Incursion, but it was not the last. Like the aftershocks of an earthquake, many other waves have arrived in the centuries since the Great Incursion, but never one as devasting as the first.
